Overview

A slight bump over the entry doorframe but nothing the scooter can't handle. Door to the loos a bit stiff to open - I just drove the scooter at it...

Transport & Parking

Lots of parking at Commercial Quay. Not sure if there are dedicated Blue Badge spaces. Buses to Commercial St, but then you'd have to walk round to the front entrance. Plenty of room for taxi drop-off, but then cobbles to negotiate

Access

4

Wee bump at font door, as mentioned above. Plenty of room to manouevre inside.

Toilets

Loos beside the bar through a (reasonably heavy) door - ladies', gents, separate accessible cubicle with plenty of room inside. Spotless. Lovely soap. Staff leap in to action to open the door when they see you approaching!

Friendly. Knowledgeable. Very professional but relaxed. Couldn't have done more to help assist me to get around.Great uniforms. Chef himself was also delightful when he came out to say hi!

Anything else you wish to tell us?

The food was delicious. We had the set lunch and left pleasantly full rather than horribly stuffed. Little extras like amuse bouche, and millionaire's shortbread with the coffee, gave it a real five star feeling. The home made bread and butter was tremendous and we were each provided with a beautifully made Swedish wooden implement (!) to spread the butter with. We were each given a map showing where ingredients are sourced from - a lovely touch. My parents are slightly finicky (Dad doesn't like cheese, Mum doesn't like raw dairy) but this was beautifully dealt with, and the menu adjusted appropriately without difficulty. One thing - I know the markup on wine is the only way that restaurants make money, but the wine list is frankly ludicrous. The cheapest bottles are about forty quid and the cheapest 175ml glasses are in the high teens. I don't mind paying a reasonable amount for wine in a restaurant, but the (ahem) 'entry level' options are extremely limited. I'll definitely be back though!
