Visit to hotel for an excellent meal

Good

Visited this hotel for our dinner before going to a local concert. Food was excellent & staff were also excellent. Unfortunately hotel is quite dated in a number of areas.

Disabled Access In and Around

Good

All areas flat entrance has no steps but it is not automatic doors so I was glad I had someone with me to open the door. Need to get a lift from the reception to the restaurant but it was adequate in size & easy to use.

Parking & Transport

Average

The parking area that we went to was nearest the main reception door however it is on a slight slope so is not ideal to get out of the car & into your wheelchair. There is one designated disabled parking space at this parking area. I think there are different parking areas which I could look at in the future however it was pouring with rain & windy this particular night so didn't investigate things further this night.

Accessible Toilets

Poor

The accessible toilet was signposted but you have to go through 2 doors (as seen in photo) to get into toilet. Everything in hotel quite dated which includes this toilet, NO emergency red cord at all. Pull chain flush which may be difficult for some people to reach. Only one grab rail available & not the cleanest. Difficult to open the outermost of the 2 doors to get out especially if you’re in a wheelchair as it opens inwards & is quite heavy
