Overall Rating
Excellent
The refurbished Victorian Warrender Swim Centre offers disabled parking, a ramp up to the main door, a lift to the swim area, accessible toilets and a hoist into the lovely 29 deg C water. Good description on web site http://www.edinburghleisure.co.uk/venues/warrender-swim-centre/facilities
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
ramp into building, lift from entrance hall to main pool area and hoist, which all staff have been trained to use, to get into the pool. Sauna may be difficult to enter.
Parking & Transport
Good
Several spaces in front of the centre, with ramp access up to main entrance. There is a sharp bend in the ramp, and wobbly tarmac at that point, which may prove difficult to negotiate unaided.
Accessible Toilets
Excellent
Ramp into accessible toilet, shower fully equipped with handles and seat. Door opens outward, so help will be needed on way in.
Staff
Excellent
Well trained, helpful staff.
Additional Information
There is a hearing loop system at the register.
