When I pulled into the service station on my way down to England, I did not expect to find the most visually striking accessible bathroom I have seen to date – but then I entered the disabled toilet and found myself surrounded by underwater wallpaper. The one Blue Badge parking space at the services was unfortunately on the other side of the petrol pumps from the shop and the toilet block, which was further away than I would expect from accessible parking. The accessible bathroom was spacious, mostly clean and just a tiny bit smelly and I appreciated the ease of the motion sensor flush and tap. The air from the hand dryer was definitely too cold for a winter morning, though! I did not need to get petrol or use the shop, but it seems that you can get assistance when fuelling up through the Fuelservice app on your phone or by calling 0161 694 8000 and asking for station number 15605 on your phone. There are also 4 bays for electric vehicle charging, two of which have a terminal that can be reached by wheelchair users.
