The view of the station from the street. There is a large silver block that rises up from the street and meets the platform buildings that are overhead. There is a large DLR logo and a teal sign with the name of the station at the top of the tall structure. There are also some large trees in front of the structure tooA view of the platforms. The image has been taken from one platform and on the left you can see the tactile markings and painted yellow line before the platform ends. There is then the gap where the train tracks are and the other platform begins further to the left. There are canopies above both platforms but the area above the train tracks is open. The help point on the platform which is a tall white structure. It has 'Emergency point' inside a green box at the top and black hazard markings on either side. On the left are two red panels and the lower one is a door which opens to an emergency train stop control and the top provides instructions on when and how to use it. On the right there is a green panel which has a large circular button which can connect you to staff. There is a painted area on the platform at the base of the help point to make it easy to spot. Some of the seats available on the platform. There are four metal seats that are joined together. West Silvertown is a small DLR station with two platforms and the DLR tracks running in the centre between the two platforms. The platforms are located above street level and there are stairs up to the platforms or lifts. There are tactile markings at the edge of the platform and there are help points to call for assistance or notify of any emergencies. The DLR trains stop level with the platform with a very minimal gap between the train and the platform.

The station is located above street level and is easy to spot as there are large silver structures where the staircases are located that rise up and meet the train tracks that can be seen overhead. There is a large DLR logo along with a sign with the station name at the top of this large silver structure to make it easy to identify. There are two lifts and two sets of staircases. One set goes to Platform 1 and the other to Platform 2. The signage by each set makes it clear which to use to reach the right platform. The lifts had tactile buttons and the stairs had grab rails. The platforms have tactile markings and a painted yellow line at the edge of the platform to indicate where it is. There is seating available along each platform which have backrests and armrests between each seat and at either end. The armrests are painted yellow. The platforms have canopies covering them entirely although they do not cover the tracks, so there may be some spots as you transfer between train and platform that are not protected from bad weather. The station is also still based outside so the platforms do not have any heating or cooling facilities There are help points in the station which provide access to alert of any emergencies or speak to staff. The trains stop level with the platforms and there is only a small gap between the train and the platform at this station. The brand-new DLR trains (as of October 2026) have a much better layout inside the carriage for those in wheelchairs or with prams. The buttons to open the doors are also lower down on the newer trains and therefore easier to reach for someone at a lower level.

Accessible facilities: Lift to all areas, Step-free entrance, Seating at regular intervals, Step-free access to most areas

I travelled to this place by train

There are two DLR platforms, one has northbound services to Stratford International and Bank, the other has southbound services to Woolwich Arsenal. I didn’t see any parking facilities nearby.

    Staff

This is an unmanned station but there is a member of staff on every DLR train and you can speak to someone using the help point on the platforms too.
