Transport & Parking

Accessible buses stop on Bishopthorpe Road opposite Southlands Methodist Church, a short distance from the Richardson Street Park entrance. Disabled parking available at Rowntree Park car park and at Bishopthorpe Road car park, both roughly 300m from the cafe.

Access

From park level the wheelchair access to the cafe is clearly signposted. However, the route is curved and uphill. You enter the cafe from the smoothly paved spacious patio. There are double doors providing a wide entrance with threshold ridge less than an inch high.

Toilets

The toilet facilities are at the back of the cafe and are spacious and accessible with generous space for carer and chair. The pathway is clear though it may be trickier to navigate at busier times.

Staff

The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful in clearing pathways when the cafe gets busier.

As a reading cafe you are able to browse and loan from a good selection of library books displayed inside and outside. The small coffees are really tiny so treat yourself to a large.
