Doddie Weir House is a dog-friendly, fully accessible, highly equipped cottage located in Dirleton, East Lothian, on the spectacular Firth of Forth coast of Scotland. The spacious house, offering accessible self-catering, has been built to a design created by Dr Lin Berwick MBE and it is now managed by Leuchie House National Respite Centre. It sleeps six, including two fully accessible profiling beds in highly equipped ground floor room with an overhead joist to the en-suite bathroom. The bathroom has a height adjustable wash basin and Clos-o-Mat toilet, a hi-lo bath, and a full size wheel-in shower. A large kitchen has everything you need to feel comfortable and at home. Upstairs there are two twin bedded rooms, a bathroom, and second sitting room for the family or carers. The generous main sitting room leads into a comfortable conservatory from which you can see the local wildlife – deer, pheasant, squirrels, garden birds, and even the occasional hedgehog. The attractive garden backs on to the famous Archerfield estate and golf course. The cottage has its own secure and peaceful gardens with private parking provided on site. The off-site House Manager will greet you on arrival, explain the equipment, answer your questions, and be available in an emergency throughout your stay.
