Disabled Traveller at 5* Dinner at hotels restaurant
A delightful evening dinner at the hotel, with an inviting selection on the menu, and all presented so nicely. It was a comfortable, warm and relaxing atmosphere, and througherly enjoyable.
PHOTO 1. The entrance into restaurant was close to our room, so we could enter straight into the restaurant
PHOTO 2. The restaurant looked delightful and inviting
PHOTO 3 After our wheelchair was taken away from our table it was placed out of the way by the staff
PHOTO 4. They sat us at a very comfortable seat ideal for us as we prefer to be on our own as being disabled we do not like making a nuisance of ourselves, and staff always treat us so well.
The restaurant was roomy, beautifully decorated in mute colours, oil paintings lined the walls, drapes were tied back very orderly and tidy, tables laid out nicely for guest arriving shortly.
PHOTO 5. A delightful light and soft Prosecco was brought to us, and we were told it was included in the weekend deal we had taken, which was a pleasant surprise for us.
ARCOBELLO BRUT PROSECCO.
Very pale with slight green hues, lots of tiny bubbles. 4 points
grape with a light fragrance. 3.5 points
Fizzy, very dry and a little mouth drying, bitter finish. 4 points
Overall points. “7”. Out of 10. Ideal aperative

Our first course soon arrived, beautifully presented
PHOTOS 6 and 7
My wife selected the Mackeral, with what we think was some sort of veg, prepared well.
I had the Beetroot and blue cheese in a soft sauce with a shedded leaf. Very nice.
PHOTO 8. At 7.15 the restaurant was still very quiet, just a few diners at tables.
But later on many more joined the restaurant.
We now made our choice of dinner wines and a Mocktail.
WHITE WINE
PINOT GRIGIO, DELLA VENEZIE, VENETO ITALY.
Pale lemon, sharp, crystal clear. 4.5 points
Sweetish easy notes, grapes and a fruity smell. 4.5 points
light bodied, dull with only a hint of fruit, fresh
With a slight bitter finish. 4.5 points
Overall points. 6.5 points. Would consider trying again
=============================================================
We have both chosen a fish course
PHOTOS 9 and 10
My wife, Haddock, fries in skin, and soft pleasant green peas.
I have selected the Bass, which was a delight, meaty, with a mix of vegetables, so nice
PHOTO 11. During day light, each window looked out over garden scenes, but now that evening has arrived it’s rather dark by now
PHOTOS 12 and 13
Although pleasantly full by now, we felt obligated to try a desert ( you just have to ) ?
Veronica, my wife, enjoyed the Poached pear ( a bit firm) with Hazelnut and chocolate
Vagan ice cream
and I happily tucked into a Chocolate tart, burnt white chocolate, and a caramel ice cream
PHOTO 14
With our meal ending, the wheelchair was brought to our table, and I glanced over to wonder what breakfast would offer. ( Some never give up do they )
