The Sheraton is a large and modern hotel. It was surprisingly friendly and well laid out to navigate around.
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
Access in and around the building: Moving around the building there were wide colourful corridors which aided my navigation as a visually impaired person and provided visual clues. The reception was immediately inside the door. I didn’t have to struggle to find it as staff stepped forward to greet me which was great. The highlight for me was discovering the bedroom numbers. They were in enormous print and had lighting immediately above them; so helpful. They also have the room numbers in braille on the signs. Access in the accessible bedrooms and bathrooms: The bedrooms were bright and spacious with plenty of room. They passed the suitcase test in the that was enough light for me to be able to see my suitcase; not always possible in some places. The bathroom was bright and well appointed. Access in the dining area: The dining area was spacious and the tables and chairs moveable if required. The staff were happy to show guest to their table. Access to other facilities: The hotel has a spa and other facilities. I explored these in the company of staff who gave me a tour. The spa is very accessible once you are orientated and has lots of facilities to make your visit easier such as the accessible changing room.
Parking & Transport

Taxis can drop off at the front door; helpful to me as a visually impaired person. The hotel is not too far from Lothian Road where there are bus services frequently passing by. The hotel does have some on-site parking.
Accessible Toilets
Excellent
There are several accessible toilets situated throughout the hotel. The one I saw was large, bright and well equipped.
Staff
Excellent
The staff at the Sheraton contribute much toward the experience. They were so helpful and friendly!
Additional Information
The hotel has much to offer and it is the small things that made the difference. The great signage on room doors, the cheerful approach of the staff, the ease of movement around the building, and so much more.
