    Solent Sky Museum

    About

Solent Sky Museum is an independent aviation museum located in Albert Road South, Southampton. Visitors can explore the rich history of aeronautical innovation in the Solent region, which was once the global heart of aircraft research and development. The collection features over 20 vintage aircraft, including the legendary Supermarine Spitfire and the massive Short Sandringham flying boat. This family-friendly attraction also houses the Hampshire Police and Fire Heritage Trust exhibition, offering a broad look at local history and engineering.

The venue provides step-free access to all areas of the museum via a lift or ramp, with the exception of aircraft flight decks. Guide dogs are permitted throughout the building to support visitors with visual impairments. While there is no dedicated private car park, on-street parking is available directly outside the museum on Albert Road South, where council parking charges apply. The museum is located within a short distance of Ocean Village, which is served by local bus routes from the city centre.
