Centre for Research Collections University of Edinburgh

    About

The Centre for Research Collections is the main access point for the University of Edinburgh's Heritage Collections. Our collections span thousands of years and are diverse in content and format, from rare books and archives to oral histories, geological and anatomical collections, musical instruments, and contemporary artworks.

We are open to all and want everyone who visits us to feel comfortable and welcome. At the Centre for Research Collections there is a staffed reception desk, a reading room, teaching and event spaces, and a gallery display. All research visits to consult collections require an appointment, so please get in touch at least one week in advance. We are located on the 6th floor of the Main Library, 30 George Square.
