Leeds Railway Station

I recently used the train to visit Leeds for the first time. I arrived and departed from one of the lower platforms, so everything went smoothly and I was off to explore the city in no time. There was a little bit of construction going on and the default way to where I was staying as suggested by my map app had stairs, but I easily found an alternative route. If you have a RADAR key, you will be well served in terms of bathrooms at the station. It is not the prettiest place, so I wouldn't necessarily want to have to spend a lot of time there, but if you do find yourself with a longer layover, you will find plenty of restaurants and shopping centres closely and even a pub with outside seating at the back entrance of the station.

Leeds City Stations has a Changing Places bathroom that is accessible before going through the barriers, so no ticket is needed. It needs to be unlocked with a RADAR key. You will find it easily by looking for the large toilet signage that takes up the whole wall next to the corridor leading to the bathrooms. Once you go down the corridor, there will be a recess on your left with two doors. The door on the left (slightly behind you) is the one to the Changing Places. There is a speaker for train station announcements in the bathroom, which can be handy if you do not want to miss anything, but it is also quite loud.

Friendly cheerful and helpful staff is the main plus point. It's a very busy station with only small lifts to get across to the different platforms so it can be a bit of a wait. The accessible toilets are poor, there's only a small cramped one that's very old and tired. The taxi rank is straight outside the entrance but if you need a wheelchair taxi there is no drop kerb where the taxi stops. You also block the queue as the taxi gets you on board as other taxis can't get past.
