Evening meal in restaurant
I had contacted the restaurant earlier in to year to enquire about access for a wheelchair user and to find out how flexible the menu was as I have a number of allergies. The manager said access was easy for a wheelchair user and he had spoken with the chef who would be able to adjust or come up with something suitable for me to eat. They advised contacting them in late October or early November as we were staying in the area in December. I emailed and booked a table and reminded them about my allergies and access. When we arrived at the restaurant access was indeed very easy just up a slight slop and in through two double doors. This lead straight into the
restaurant , there was plenty of room to get around with my wheelchair they offered us a choice of two tables. The manager had printed off my list of allergies and suggested I look at the menu and decide what I wanted and they would take it from there. I decided. On a chicken schnitzel that came
with a spicy sauce which I knew I would not be able to have , but asked if I could have the whisky sauce instead and a selection of vegetables instead of the salad . He went to speak to the chef who was concerned about the seasoning/coating on the chicken but offered to cook me just a plain grilled chicken breast and asked which vegetables I would prefer, he said the whisky sauce would be fine. My husband decided on a meal from the daily specials duck in a spicy sauce with rice and vegetables. I must say the meal was amazing and the staff so very helpful. They certainly went above. And beyond .it made it a most enjoyable and unstressful evening. As they fully understood my needs will certainly be making a return visit when next in the area.
