    About

Canary Wharf DLR Station is a major transport hub located in the heart of the vibrant Canary Wharf business and shopping district in East London. Visitors can use the driverless Docklands Light Railway to reach key destinations such as Bank, Stratford, and Lewisham. The station is sheltered by a striking elliptical glass roof and provides direct access to the surrounding malls, restaurants, and professional offices. It serves as a vital link for exploring the modern architecture and extensive dining options available across the estate.

    Accessibility Highlights

The station provides step free access to all platforms via lifts and escalators, with level access between the platforms and the trains. While there are no toilet facilities directly within the DLR station, accessible toilets are located nearby in the shopping malls at Cabot Place, Canada Place, Churchill Place, and Jubilee Place. The accessible toilets in Canada Place and Churchill Place also include hoist facilities. There are forty seven accessible parking bays for Blue Badge holders available across the Canary Wharf estate car parks.

Bright station with great step-free access

Canary Wharf DLR Station is located just outside one of the entrances to the shopping centre. The platforms themselves are above street level so the step-free access to the platforms is located underneath a bridge. The platforms are easy to navigate, there is good signage, some decent seating available in various spots. The tall ceiling is made from glass so the lighting is all natural in the daylight which is really nice. When the DLR trains arrive they are level with the platform and have a very small gap between the train and the platform, I would estimate no more than an inch or two. There is a wheelchair symbol on one of the doors of the DLR which shows the doors that are closest to the wheelchair space. The staff I interacted with on the platform were absolutely lovely, they checked in to make sure I knew where I was going and although they didn’t specifically say they were doing this, I believe they waited until I had safely boarded a train before continuing with their day. I really appreciated the care they showed!

    Great railway for wheelchair access

Great station for access with ramps to the main entrance and lift to the platform. Staff were very helpful in pointing out the way.
